How soon can I be seen?
Most patients are seen within a day or two, and same-day slots are often available for the villages close to our ME17 base. Call or text for anything urgent.
Does it hurt?
No. You may feel a tickling sensation and hear the suction, but the procedure should be entirely painless. Treatment pauses the moment you ask.
Do I need to use olive oil first?
It helps, and two to three days of drops beforehand makes hard wax much easier to shift — but it is not mandatory. Come anyway, especially for a same-day appointment.
How long does the appointment take?
Around thirty minutes in total: a short health questionnaire, examination of both ears, the treatment itself, a re-check and aftercare advice.
What do you need in my home?
A chair with a back, a plug socket within reach and reasonable light. Nothing else — all equipment and consumables are brought with us.
What if there is no wax?
The visit is the standard £75, which covers the full examination of both ears, professional advice and aftercare guidance. If your ears are clear you will be told so honestly, with advice on what is causing your symptoms and where to go next.
Can you treat children?
Yes, from age five, with a parent or guardian present throughout. Children with additional needs are very welcome — tell us when booking so extra time can be allowed.
I have a perforated eardrum or grommets — can I be treated?
Usually yes, using microsuction, which keeps the canal dry. Irrigation is not used on these ears. Tell us your history when you book.
Do you still offer ear syringing?
We offer modern water irrigation, which replaced syringing. It uses warmed water at a regulated, pulsed pressure rather than a hand-pumped metal syringe.
How do I pay?
After treatment, by cash or card. Nothing is taken at the time of booking, and itemised receipts are available for insurance claims.
What if the wax will not come out in one visit?
Occasionally very hard wax needs softening first. If that happens you will be asked to oil for a few days and the follow-up visit is free.
Do you cover my village?
If it is within roughly twenty minutes of Maidstone the answer is almost certainly yes. Check the areas page or call — journeys further out may carry a small travel supplement, quoted before you book.
